Riding Club

 

 

                                           Article 1. Club Creation and Name

 

Section 1.1  This Riding Club shall be known as the:

                                                   "Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club"

This may be abbreviated as "S&BRC"

 

Section 1.2   The "S&BRC" was founded by Garry S.B. Sparling. (hereby known as  "National President" ).

 

Section 1.3   Chapters will be identified by geographical area name of that particular chapter.

 

                                                    Article 2. Purpose

 The purpose of our club is to provide assistance to the smaller "local" charities in our communities while enjoying the sport of recreational motorcycling as an organized group and to provide an outlet as a social club both within and outside our membership.

 

                                                    Article 3. Membership

 

Section 3.1 Criteria  Membership is available to everyone, male or female regardless of origin of nationality or what type or brand of motorcycle you ride.

 

Section 3.2  Members must agree and abide by the  By-Laws and Code of Conduct of the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club.  

 

(a)   Members must own and legally be eligible to operate a motorcycle that is in good/safe working condition. Persons wishing to join that do not own/operate a motorcycle in good/safe working condition will not be considered for membership in the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club. This is a Riding Club... hence you will need a bike that you can ride to be eligible for membership.

 

(b) Agree with the club purpose.

 

(c) Be in good standing in terms of conduct.

 

(d) Members must agree that they are responsible for their conduct and cannot hold the "Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club" (S&BRC) responsible for any mishap, accident nor is it implied that the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club (S&BRC) is open to suit or litigation.

 

 ** The Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club reserves the right to accept or reject membership and to periodically, and without notice, revise and/or amend the rules and regulations where deemed neccesary.

 

                                                                      Article 4. Dues

 Members are required to pay a "one time, lifetime membership fee" that is in reflection of "On Loan" regalia costs provided to new members.  ** Fees tendered for membership allow for ownership of "membership only" while member is in "good standing" with the club. The Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club patch(s) / Insignia/calling cards are property of the club National President and Founder and are supplied to members in a "ON LOAN" basis for the period of  time spent as a "member in good standing". * Any Membership that is revoked after a fair and unbiased review is NOT subject to reimbursement of original membership fees.

 

 The National Officers encourage all members to attend and or conduct charity events.If the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club name is used in the billing of such events, then the National Office needs to give approval for the charity that has been selected as beneficiary.

 

AT NO TIME IS THERE TO BE ANY BANK ACCOUNTS, SAVINGS OR CHECKING, OPENED IN THE NAME OF The "Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club" BY ANY OFFICER OR MEMBER.

 

If the name " Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club" OR the Club Emblem is to be used in the promotion of a charitable event, by a Chapter or Member, Then beneficiary of the event MUST be previously approved by the National Office.

 

Insurance for an event must be carried by the venue or the individual presenting the event.The Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club (S&BsRC) will NOT insure any event, ride or social activity.

 

                                                     Article 5. Meetings

 Meetings may consist of formal sit down or rides that are conducted by the individual chapters. NO MEMBER IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND ANY OR ALL REGULAR CLUB MEETINGS,HOWEVER, MEMBERS THAT HAVE CONDUCTED THEMSELVES IN A MANNER THAT IS DEEMED NON-CONFORMING TO THE CLUB BY-LAWS OR CODE OF CONDUCT BY THE CHAPTER OR NATIONAL OFFICERS MUST ATTEND ANY OR ALL CHAPTER OR NATIONAL MEETINGS THAT ARE ARRANGED PERTAINING TO THE REVIEW OF THE MEMBERS CONDUCT. 

PARTICIPATION IN REGULAR DAY TO DAY CLUB ACTIVITIES IS ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS ONLY.

Any National or Chapter Officer may call meetings. Members of the Chapters may also request meetings by contacting the Chapter Officers and with approval, may head the meeting.

 

                                             Article 6. Club Officers

 

 National Officers :

                          National officers of the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club will consist of the following officer structure.

                  National President (initially the President of the first chapter formed)

                  National Vice President

                  National Secretary

The term of service for National Officers is unlimited. In the case of a National Officer position becoming available the new officer will be voted in by the remaining National Officers. The National Officers have the right to vote in a new National officer or create a new officers position and appoint a person to fill the new position when it becomes necessary to maintain the club operations to its fullest.

 

The National President will be given unimpaired access by all chapters and members in order to oversee all activities as deemed necessary to the proper operation of the club. The National President will oversee all Officers and members of this club.

 

The National Office will maintain a current roster of members in good standing and will be assisted by ALL the chapter level officers to do so.

 

The National Office shall maintain and approve the appointment of all Chapter level officers and assist the chapter officers in securing competent members in the required chapter officer positions.

 

Chapter Officers:

                        Chapter officer postings are as follows:

 

                             Chapter President

                             Chapter Vice President

                             Chapter Road Captain  

 

Chapter Officers resigning from positions held in chapters shall inform the National Office and assist the National Office in finding a replacement. The National office must be in agreement with the person(s) selected as replacement by the chapter and have final approval rights for same.

 

Chapter Presidents are those that have applied for and have been accepted by the National Office to form a new chapter in their area. These individuals are responsible for the operation of said chapters and are in charge of the same.

 

Length of term for Chapter Officers are decided at the chapter level and are unlimited. They may appoint or be replaced by a method of their own choosing such as election. Ultimately , the National office is required to give approval to all replacement Officers before the appointment/ election results are confirmed as accepted.

 

Chapter Officers may be relieved of their postions and / or club membership itself by the National Officers for conduct that shows the club in a bad name or any other reason deemed in the best interest of the club.

 

                                               Article.7 Duties of Officers

National Officers

                           The National President will maintain and ensure unimpaired access to all chapters and members in order to oversee all activities as deemed necessary to the proper operation of the club. The National President will oversee all Officers and members of this club.

 

Collectively the National President The National Vice President and National Secretary will maintain a current roster of members in good standing and will be assisted by ALL the chapter level officers to do so and in addition shall maintain and approve the appointment of all Chapter level officers and assist the chapter officers in securing competent members in the required chapter officer positions.

 

Chapter Officers

 Chapter Presidents duties are: Keeping the National office and Chapter members informed, maintaining communication in general and keeping a current chapter membership roster. Chapter Presidents are the ambassadors of the club and their chapter and are required to promote and maintain the clubs positive attitude toward the community in general. It is the duty of all Chapter Presidents to address ANY issues within their chapter and to maintain the smooth operation of the chapter via any reasonable means at their disposal. Although it is each chapters Road Captains responsiblity to oversee the actual ride routes schedules etc. for the chapter IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITYOF THE CHAPTER PRESIDENT TO ENSURE THAT THEIR CHAPTER IS INVOLVED IN A MINIMUM OF ONE CHARITY / RIDE EVENT PER RIDING SEASON.

 

Chapter Vice Presidents duties are basically acting as the Chapter Presidents right hand and are essentially a mirror image of the Chapter President in regards to chapter duties and responsibilities.

 

Chapter Road Captains are just that "Captains of the Road" and are responsible in organizing the routes , gas stops, position of riders in the group according to skill and ability and addressing any safety issues that are apparent.

 

Officers at the National level or Chapter level that have been removed from their position due to conflict of interest or who have been negatively reviewed by the members of the National Office previously; or Officers that have been removed from their position for failing to follow the club by laws or code of conduct will not be considered for an officer position within this club again.

 

Chapter Officers may remove Membership from any member within their chapter that does not comply with the by laws or code of conduct of the "Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club"  or acts in a manner that places the club or chapter in a bad form of character towards the public or the membership in general. Chapter officers may turn problems within the Chapter over to the National Office for futher direction to the problem with the sole intent to make the final decision thats acceptable to the club itself and the Membership of the Chapter.

 

A grievance may be presented to the National Office via e-mail or letter form. All pertinant information must be included in the request. All complaints from Officers or the general membership sent to the National Office for review will be kept in confidence and will not be released to the public or the Membership of the club.

The contents and context of complaints will only be shared with the individuals filing the complaint, the National Office and the complaintants.

* Any Membership that is revoked after a fair and unbiased review is NOT subject to reimbursement of original membership fees and the member subject to this action SHALL RETURN the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club "Patch(s)/ Insignia and calling cards" IMMEDIATELY to the officer(s) involved in administering the membership revocation. The club patch(s)/ insignia and calling cards are the property of the National President and Founder and shall remain so and will be returned to the club inventory.

                                  

                                              Article 8. Appointments

 The National Officers have the right to vote in a new National Officer or create a new officers position and appoint a person to fill the new position when it becomes necessary to maintain the club operations to its fullest.

 

Collectively the National President, the National Vice President,the National Secretary and the Chapter President shall maintain and approve the appointment of all Chapter level officers and assist the chapter officers in securing competent members in the required chapter officer positions.

 

                                                 Article 9. Conduct

** Violation of the by law(s) and or breech of club code of conduct as stated herein is grounds for probation or termination of membership (without refund of membership fees) with the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club.

** All members of the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club must solemnly and sincerely promise to :

1-Respect and Honor:(a) Their family and club brothers and sisters.

                              (b) All colors and affiliations.

                              (c) Humanity.

2-Hold club information strictly confidential.

3-Obey all federal and provincial laws.

4- Act in a safe and orderly manner.

5-Conduct themselves in a manner that will compliment the club.

6-Assist all S&BRC worthy members,their spouse and children, as to their necessities may require, to the best of their abilities permit, without material or resource injury to themselves, their family or the club.

7-abide by all by-laws, rules and regulations and code of conduct pertaining to the  S&BRC. 

 

( b ) Given the nature of this clubs structure and activities , at no time does the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club accept responsibility for any rider's / members or guest(s) actions or lack of actions before, during or after a ride or club event.

 

Each individual rider/member or guest is 100% responsible for:

 

1- safely operating their vehicle in accordance with all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws.

 

2- ensuring that they and their vehicle are unimpaired, and are capable of functionally operating in a normal and safe manner.

 

3- making sure they are capable of maneavering safely in the riding enviroment that they are involved in. Should they be not 100% sure of their ability in a current ride it is their responsibility to remove themselves from the situation. At all times each rider must operate within their known capabilities.

 

4- to ensure that the enviroment is safe for themselves as well as other riders.

 

**The Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club does not condone drinking and riding and anyone participating in a club ride or event who consumes beverages containing alcohol or uses any other substance that impairs their ability to operate a motor vehicle does so without the consent of the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club. Everyone that participates in a club ride/event must follow the laws regarding driving while under the influence set forth by the Province within which that ride/event will take place.

Any Officer as recognized as such by the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club and by this code of conduct may dismiss anyone participating in a club ride/event if the person(s) being dismissed are deemed as impaired and pose a danger to themselves or others involved in the ride/event.

 

**Any member involved in any illegal activities will be immediately scrutinized by their Chapter and National Officers and be subject to immediate removal from the club rosters and membership roles and forbidden to claim any and all association with the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club, to include, but not limited to:

(1) removal of club patch and insignias of any sort which is the property owned by the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club (S&BRC) National President and Founder.

(2) prohibited to participate in any Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club activities. 

(3) dismisal without refund of any membership fee previously tendered to the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club.

 

                                 Article 10. Crests, Logo's and Patches

 The Club Patch/Insignia as well as the calling cards bearing the name "Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club" are the property of the National President and are registered as such and are NOT TO BE REPRODUCED and or sold by any member or person for "profit or non profit" without the written permission of the National President.

** Fees tendered for membership allow for ownership of "membership only" while the member is in "good standing" with the club.The club patch(s)/insignia and calling cards are provided to members in a "ON LOAN" status for the period of time spent as a "member in good standing". Members that have their membership status terminated by decision of the National or Chapter executive shall immediately surrender the club patch(s) / insignia and calling cards to the club officer(s) at the time of membership revocation. Members that wish to terminate/retire their membership by their own decision will be eligible for considerstion of retaining their club patch(s) as memorabilia.. BUT.. will cease representing the club as a member and will refrain from wearing the club patch(s)/ insignia in public. Any club "calling cards" in the possesion of self retired members shall be surrendered to the club National/Chapter officer(s) as well. Retired members that are considered the opportunity to retain club "patches or insignia" must agree and ackowledge that the club property they wish to retain for memorabilia reasons shall not be tendered for profit or non profit at any time.In the event of the members passing (death), said items will be made available for return to the clubs officer(s) by the deceased persons immediate surviving family members.Considerations for the family's wishes regarding the club property will be given on an individual basis when these situations occur. Death of a member is considered "retirement of club membership" and all above conditions pertaining to "retirement" apply.

 

All graphics used on the National web site MAY be used on Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club chapter owned web sites without permission of the National President HOWEVER sites created for chapter use will require the approval of content by the National President and or the members of the National Office PRIOR to being made available to the general membership or public.

 

6- The "Patch" or Insignia" of the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club as worn on the jacket or vest shall consist of the "Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club" logo and the large version of the logo shall be worn on the back upper portion of the jacket or vest. NO THREE PIECE PATCHES are permitted in the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club. No member shall ever add the letters MC or wear the designation  1% on their jacket or vest or any other article of clothing while representing the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club.

*No Pin(s) OR any other articles that may allude to association, affiliation and or support to any other organization or club shall be worn on the "specific" piece of clothing worn by the member(s) bearing the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club Patch or insignia. The only exceptions to be " In memory of " patch(s) and /or pins or patches pertaining to brand specific products or event patches that pertain to events or rides that the Sticks & Bones Charity Support Riding Club or individual member(s) sponsor or support.

 

NO ROCKERS or CHAPTER LOCATION BARS or "CLBS" that identify a City, Province or Territory or ANYTHING giving the appearance of a "Rocker" will be worn in conjunction with the club insignia on the back of jackets or vests.

The "Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club" is a neutral family and community oriented national charity support RIDING CLUB and as such cannot show preference to any one club over another.

The smaller "Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club" patch or logo is to be worn on the front left hand breast pocket area of the jacket or vest.

The "Chapter Name" patch shall be worn on the front right breast pocket as is the bearers "Nickname" patch (nickname patches are not mandatory). The "Chapter Name" patch will be worn ABOVE the optional "Nickname" patch. NO exceptions please. ALL CHAPTER NAME PATCHES AND OR NICKNAME PATCHES SHOULD FOLLOW THE COLOR SCHEME OF THE NATIONAL CLUB PATCH WHENEVER POSSIBLE TO KEEP THE APPERANCE UNIFORM. (ie: gray or silver embroidered lettering with a black background and silver or gray border).  

 

                                              Article 11. Chapters

 For those that wish to form a chapter you must acknowledge the intention on the membership application as provided by the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club. Officers of the club must be a minimum of 19 Yrs. of age and apply as a Full Member to be considered for forming their own chapter. The National President or a member of the National executive will contact the applicant for more information to determine wether the proposed chapter is in the best interest of the of the Sticks and Bones Charity Support Riding Club. The applicant that applies and is accepted to form a new chapter will, at that point, be known as the Chapter President and will take direction from the National President and members of the National office.

Any information required regarding Chapters and Officers of Chapters will need to be directed to the National President at: sparling@surenet.net
 

The National President must be informed on the application that a local chapter is desired by the applicant.

 

* Only FULL membership applicants/members will be considered for application to start a new chapter. Associate members are exempt and need to become FULL members to be considered for creating a new chapter.

 

 The National Office shall maintain and approve the appointment of all Chapter level officers and assist the chapter officers in securing competent members in the required chapter officer positions.

 

 The geographical area and size of each chapter will vary due to population concentration and/or physical layouts of the proposed chapter and will be reviewed and decided upon by the National President.

 

ALL CHAPTER OFFICERS AND MEMBERS MUST CONFORM TO THE BY LAWS AND CODE OF CONDUCT OF THE STICKS & BONES CHARITY SUPPORT RIDING CLUB.
